Fish Camp 2017

15 miles downriver on the mighty Yukon, we found ourselves setting up our new Alaknak II tent. Charlie was also setting up his tent and forgot his center pole, which is the main pole to hold up the tent. I saw a long driftwood log with the stump and roots still attached. It looked perfect for a center pole. A little chainsaw work and alot of laughter as the guys tried installing it into the tent made for a good start to fish camp. We cooked on the fire and a propane cookstove, Charlie set his nets and we helped around camp. We were there for 5 days, 49 king salmon were caught and processed. We took a scenic ride up into the Yukon Charley National Preserve and saw some amazing scenery. Panning for gold, we found some small flakes and fished for some grayling. Check out the pictures of fish camp in the photo section!
