Chickens n things...

Our chickens and rooster travelled with us this last trip. We finished their coop, putting in 4 nesting boxes and buttoning it up with insulation for the impending winter. They are on a schedule, let them out of the coop at 7 am, back in the coop at 7 pm. They free range on the property.

I decided to plant wildflowers randomly around the property. After sowing several packets of seeds, I head a cluck, turned around and saw the entire flock following me, eating up everything I'd thrown... Grrr... We can't seem to do any projects without a curious hen peeking in on us! Nate is putting together a tent here. I looked up from setting fence posts and saw the entire flock sitting at his feet, watching him intently. Luckily I had been taking pics of the progress we'd made and had my camera with me. Such funny animals, they are becoming our daily entertainment...

Our dog, decided to try to fly. She is very powerful and fast, only 6 months old and still very much a puppy. We were calling her in for the night and she came running at full speed at the top of the hill. When she reached the sloped ledge she lept into the air, taking full flight with a 4 foot drop below her. I think it suprised her as much as it did us as she let gravity take it's course and she landed, front paws first then onto her face, sliding awkwardly several feet into Nate. We laughed so hard. She seemed pretty embarrassed and wouldn't look at us. Superdog she is not...
