The time is drawing near

In 15 days our lives change forever. Untethered and finally free,  we begin a new adventure together.

Nate has expressed his concerns about living off grid, creating a self sustaining self sufficient life, breaking free of the 9 to 5 life he has lived in his whole adult life. I too, though experienced in off grid living, find it curiously concerning to truly break the chains of "normal" life and jump into this new life with both feet.

The thought of our daily lives being lived to sustain our family by hunting, fishing, gardening and relying on each other to make this all work creates a sense of peace and harmony I can't quite describe. It's as if a weight has been removed from my shoulders and my spirit is free and light, able to laugh and play and look at life from a different angle. It is a great feeling and i hope it stays strong in me as we partake in this new quest.

So for now, we anxiously await the arrival of April, packing boxes, cleaning the house for the new tenant to move in, purchasing last minute supplies, making lists and checking them over and over again, talking like excited children about unforseen adventures ahead and new places to explore ...
